Mrs Aden is 94 years old and lives on her own in her house.  Mrs Aden’s son lives in Bantry Bay.  He phones her every evening and visits her every second Saturday.  Mrs Aden needs someone to be available to her should she require assistance with her administrative tasks, Driver assisted outings and Short Check in visits when she goes through a period of bad health.

Tasks have involved:

  • Picking lemons off her lemon tree to distribute to her friends
  • Assisting Mrs Aden to link up to a telecare company
  • Assisting Mrs Aden to find someone to fix the garden tap
  • Assisting Mrs Aden to fill in her gap cover forms for her to submit a claim to her gap cover provider
  • Transporting Mrs Aden to her to the doctor when she fell off the ladder in her study
  • I filled in the forms to arrange a carer with a Nursing services organization while she recovered from the flu
  • I did short daily check-in visits to arrange supplies while Mrs Aden recovers from an illness

  • Mrs Aden asked that someone supervise the Project Manager responsible for small maintenance tasks to her house
  • Mrs Aden requested that I take her clothes shopping on occasion
  • I arranged Mrs Aden’s regular visits to her optometrist, dermatologist, general practitioner etc
  • I co-ordinated tasks which Mrs Aden was no longer able to do, so she could stay independent in her house for longer.
  • I cut and painted Mrs Aden’s nails when requested to do so.

Mr Baker lives in a Frail Care Facility.  He is 96 years old.  He required someone to assist him with his ongoing administrative tasks, Driver aided activities and regular check in visits when he goes through a rough health period.  I do what the Nursing Staff at his care facility do not do.  His family lives abroad.

  • Tax related documents are gathered 3 times a year and dropped off at the Auditors 3 times a year.
  • I liaise with and pay the distributors of his daily newspapers.

  • I transport Mr Baker to the plastic surgeon when he needs a surgery and pick him up and take him back the Frail Care Facility afterwards
  • Until he has recovered from an operation I check in on him every day until he is back on his feet
  • I liaise with his son and co-ordinate with the Home Care Organization to supply a carer for a determined amount of time until Mr Baker is back on his feet after a surgery
  • I liaise with the Health Care Management when there are issues with the food, items that go missing from his room or where he needs additional assistance
